Looking for an activity for the first week of school?
This is a lesson PPT, Lesson plan and resources I used for a PSHE lesson I did for an interview (I got the job!) The lesson was on the book The Bad Seed and focuses on reputation. I use this for transition day for any children who may have been label as âthe bad kidâ in their current year group to let them know that their year with me is an opportunity for a fresh start.
In this download, you will find the lesson PowerPoint I used as well as the resources I created to accompany it. As the children worked on a resource I amended from a product purchased from Teachers Pay Teachers, that resources has been linked on the first page of the RESOURCES file as well as links to the book or an read aloud on Youtube.
This resources was used with a Year 3 class but it easily adaptable for any year group.
For use in both EYFS and Key Stages 1 and 2, here are the transition day activities I showed on my Instagram.
These activities are what I plan to use on my transition day next week and I wanted to share them with you all! In this download there are three activities:
All About Me Poster
Find Someone Who
Letter Template
Activities 1 and 2 can be used together which I am planning to do using a gallery walk for children to go and find someone who but you can always do them independantly.
This download includes a PDF version of all three sheets for printing out but there will be an PPT (PowerPoint) version coming soon!
Here are my job application forms to match my classroom jobs!
These application forms include the skills required, the salary in Dojo Points and space for children to write why they think theyâre good for the job but are editable for you to add your own description of the job.
Jobs included in this resource:
Water Bottle
News Reporter
Register Monitor
Lunch Counter
Class Librarian
Chair Stacker
Morning Greeter
Mail Person
Eco Team
Teaching Assistant
Photographer
Messenger
Line Leader
Tech Team
Class Leader
I am using these in my classroom to emphasise the importance of the jobs and their role in the classroom as well as get the children excited about the chance to be a part of the class!
To use this resource, simply click in the black box and start typing! I recommend saving the finished document as a PDF file and then printing them all 2 to a page. Keep these as originals and then you can photocopy as many as you need.
Iâm also introducing the jobs to my class first and making these forms available for the children to fill in and hand in whenever they want!
Iâm rolling out all the hits today!
My Timetable Cards⊠but editable!!
I realised that my cards were a bit⊠limited considering that I made them for my classroom so here are an editable version so you can add all the little bits that are unique to your classroom.
Include in this download are a range of icons including those used in my original timetable card download as well as some others that may be useful to you. Basically, if it looked vaguely like I could use it in a timetable, I included it.
Another print on card, laminate and cut resource, this can be ready for your classroom in no time!
Debit Cards to use with Class Dojo
Encourage responsibility by encouraging your class to keep track of their dojo points. Fab to use if you use dojo points as currency and your class can use them to buy rewards and prizes.
Two versions - rounded rectangle and rectangle to save your wrists when cutting! I recommend printing on card and laminating for long term use each year!
The resource is Year 1 High Frequency Words written on wolves. I made the resource for my class to have a âwolf huntâ as part of our Three Little Pigs Unit.
The blank wolves are from Sparklebox
Thereâs a lot of debate around using PowerPoint in lessons, itâs a bit like marmite but for me, having slide provide a sense of routine and structure both for me and the children. I find that having the same thing on the board helps to set the day and start transition between lessons.
Here are the Daily Slide I use every single day with my class!
This PPT Set include:
Morning Work Slides
Morning Meeting Slides
Break Time Slides
Lunch Time Slides
Hometime Slides
Blank Slide for editing!
The fonts used in these slide are KG Blank Space (available free on 1001Fonts) and LetterJoin (KG First time in Forever is a free alternative with a similar look)
When I recieved my timetable for the year, I was baffled! Between the colours, highlighting and confusing abbreivations, I couldnât work out what I was teaching let alone when!
Here is a MUCH simpler template that I used to rewrite my timetable in a way I could actually understand! The download includes 2 completely editable templates , 1 horizontal and 1 vertical to suit your needs as well as a how to guide to help you make it your own!
A freebie for everyone! A lovely poster for you to decorate your classroom.
Itâs editable for you to change the colour of the children to match your schools uniform and personalise it a little. The fonts are embedded but are NOT editable.
For use in both EYFS and Key Stages 1 and 2, hereâs my lesson planning template shown on my Instagram.
This lesson plan template is what I used when planning my interview lessons or one off activities. The lesson planning templates is ideal for writing in detail about lessons where you are not familiar with the class allowing you to keep a detail record of the resources you will need.
The template has the following sections:
Lesson Information
Resources
Starter
Main Input
Main Activity (Continuous Provision for EYFS)
Plenary
TA Support Notes
This download includes both a PDF version for writing on directly or an editable version for typing onto. Please note the fonts are embedded but titles are not yet editable.
